have you ever wondered just how much fat and grease is in those delicious burgers your eating?

well i came across this video just now that gives us a tiny little glimpse into how much grease is present by creating an art masterpiece using just burgers. that’s right, you do not have to go back and read that sentence again. its a painting created with grease. you could call it grease art if you want. all created with only 14 burgers!

Phil Hansen paints the Mona Greasa with burger grease.

if you just ate 14 burgers, you could have a mona lisa in your stomach!

think about it…

Teaching techniques on using tools properly has always been an activity carried out only by humans, Professor Nobuo Masataka of Kyoto University told the AFP news agency.

However these female monkeys have been observed flossing their teeth using human hair in the same way that we humans floss our own teeth. furthermore, researches from Japan also noticed that the mothers spend double the amount of time flossing when they were being watched by their infants. This suggests that they were deliberately teaching their young how to floss.

[link]

WOW.. This is really cool. monkeys can teach their young how to do things. What is even cooler is that they FLOSS. I mean how many humans floss?????

i was enjoying a nice dinner today. one improvised by mixing in some spices with some instant noodles (ramen to those in the US, Maggie to those elsewhere) and some ground beef to give it some flavor. it actually came out pretty darn good.

i served it up with some MD chillie garlic sauce and was in heaven. one thign was missing, sprats. so i reached for the bottle of Larich chilli fried sprats and had a few.. YUM. being the curous chap i am, i turned the bottle over and decided to read the nutrition sheet at the back of the bottle. i almost choked as i read “Cholestrol = 0“. i turned the bottle around and re-read the label in the front. true enough it read, “Chilli Fried” and those sprats were deep friend for sure.

i’d like to meet the fellow who came up with the zero cholesterol deep fried sprats and shake his hand. hehehe lets just hope no external health department decides to take that up and test it.

am I crazy? i’m am probably the most unfit chap your likely to come across and yet i managed to get talked into seriously considering a half marathon. i may have been able to pull it off about 5 years ago, but in the shape i’m in right now. I’d be glad if i am not left rolling on the floor after the first 2 miles. the half marathon is 13.1 miles ☹

to make matters worse it wasn’t even a girl trying to convince me. so why did I agree to this hair brained plan? the honest truth of the matter is that i’m ridiculously unfit and the reason for that is that i’m just too lazy to get off my fat ass and exercise.

i really don’t care if i end up being the last person in this race to cross the finish line (well maybe that’s a bit of a stretch. i think i will care if i was the last) but i am hoping that this will give me the motivation to start getting in shape. i hope.

that being said, anyone have any good idea’s or suggestions on how i can go about this whole getting in shape bit? joining a gym wont really work for me. it’s just way too artificial for me.

By ostrich life I mean with their head stuck deep deep in the ground.

Anyone who at one point in their lives were adolescent’s knows this as fact but someone still decided to spend the money to conduct a research into this very fact! The BBC has an article that talks about this very research conducted in Britain and other European countries. The findings [surprise, surprise] stated that young folks were getting drunk and taking drugs to increase the chance of having sex.

pyschoactive drugs

Anyways, I just though it was a total waste of money. You don’t really need to do any research to find that out. Any idiot off the streets would be able to confirm that fact, or if your too high and mighty to talk to idiots off the street, go into any bar/club you will be able to see clearly… just like when the rain goes away …. Hehehe

If you’re interested in reading the article here it is.

There is something comforting about a nice warm gooey cookie. It scream comfort. Its the food of the cookie monster after all. After a nice long hard day at work, most people reach for that single malt whiskey, or that nicely ages glass of wine to help them relax. Not for me. A nice fresh glass of milk (normal milk. not that watered down non fat, or 1% or 2% crap) and a plate of soft gooey chocolate chip cookies. Now thats what I call relaxing the days worries away.

Now that I’m on the topic of cookies, can someone please tell me why I cant find Keebler Soft Batch anywhere any more. I LOVE those cookies.

I am in love with the Wii. It has revolutionalized game playing in my eyes. Sure the graphics are better and more realistic on the ps3, I’ve heard this a million times; but you’re still sitting there on your arse using a little joystick and a few buttons to control “your realistic” character on the screen. How far from realistic can you get! The Nintendo Wii at least is taking a step in the right direction.

I’m getting distracted. The main purpose of this post was not to talk about how much better the Wii is over its competition, but to talk about how it’s being used as a medical aid. I recently read two very interesting stories about its uses. This article in the BBC health section [link] talks about how the Wii is being used by as a therapy tool with burn victims and those with hand injuries to boost their recovery.

Specialists say using the Wii brings back flexibility to damaged areas and that most importantly – patients actually enjoy their treatment.

“When recovering from an operation, such as a skin graft, patients may need recover normal use of their hands and arms,” said Maureen Adams, head of therapy at Queen Victoria NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead.

“Using the Wii is a way of significantly improving movement, while not seeing the activity as therapy, which helps motivate them. Wii can also be done at home, so patients are able to continue their own personal therapies.”

Another interesting article [link] talks about the increased control surgeons experience after warming up on the Wii system for an hour before surgery.

The fine hand control required to play these games acts as a warm up and hones scalpel skills the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Centre team claim.

“The whole point about surgery is to execute small finely controlled movements with your hands, and that is exactly what you get with the Wii.”

Marble Mania, in which a ball is guided through a 3D obstacle course – was particularly effective in the study.

The article reported:

Game players scored nearly 50% higher on tool control and overall performance than other trainees.

Now who said playing games was for kids?

—-
