when ever news of this sort reaches my ears i get very worries. are all the people i know safe, etc…

tempered with this, there are some occasions where i cant help but to laugh. today was one of those occasions. as worried as i was, i literally burst out laughing when i read the following news story on Reuters. Tamil Tiger planes bomb power station and army camp.

so what was so funny about the article that caused this outburst? here you go.

Shortly after the lights went out, the sound of anti-aircraft guns thundered from Colombo’s shoreline, and people stood in the streets to watch.

i mean, the whole point of a blackout is for people to head indoors, and wait it out in darkness until it is safe to come out again. NOT to go and stand in the road where you can get hurt by stray artillery fire.

i guess somethings will never change. we sri lankans are a very curious bunch, but sometimes its better to be cautious and safe than curious and sorry don’t you think?

Hmmm…ya, the first thing i did when i heard the anti-aircraft fire was to go to the rooftop. Stupid, but true. Those tiger planes aren’t going to randomly bomb peoples’ houses afterall. They’re too tiny to do something like that.

'…Curiosity killed the cat…' It’s a good thing I’m not a cat. If I were to akin myself to a representative of the animal kingdom a monkey would be more my type :-)
