i’m all abuzz about the new google browser since it was announced leaked a day ago. i read the comic. very impressive. my only concern is throughout the offical announcement blog, there was no mention about web standards. i mean it has taken us absolutely forever to come to where we actually have a set of browsers that kinda work together and kinda adhear to w3c web standards on html and css. now we have chrome talking about applications and rendering engines etc… all very interesting stuff but does this mean we are going to have a whole new era of web application inconsistency? i dont know but i sure hope not.

all of this aside. i still want to install and play around with chrome and the download link IS NOT WORKING. why is this happening to me. the link i have is http://gears.google.com/chrome/eula.html?hl=en (after a feverant google search for the download link)

anyone else having the same problem?

UPDATED: thanks linda for this link  www.google.com/chrome

    I checked the link you posted and it didn’t seem to work for me either. However, when i clicked on the Google logo in the left top corner of that page, I was able to download from the new page that opened.

    Try doing that and see if it works!

    Good Luck!

    just stick to the fox.

    Got it down this afternoon and spent a few hours ‘testing’ it.
    Much much faster than the fox, pretty easy to get on with. I miss mouse gestures, but can live for now.
    The biggest issue is that a few sites are now broken. Seems the web standard issue is a real issue. The ones that are not working are CSS menu driven ones.
    For now, I am going to stick with it, its so much faster than Firefox. The clean interface (you can see more of the web page) makes it refreshing to use.

    @Beno
    Since they just took another enige for parsing you can’t really blame them for that. But still I think FF is better for the moment. See my site for MY point of view on the issue.
    And ow… F11 in FF (and IE) will make your world larger I guess :p
