can i run a half marathon?

am I crazy? i’m am probably the most unfit chap your likely to come across and yet i managed to get talked into seriously considering a half marathon. i may have been able to pull it off about 5 years ago, but in the shape i’m in right now. I’d be glad if i am not left rolling on the floor after the first 2 miles. the half marathon is 13.1 miles

to make matters worse it wasn’t even a girl trying to convince me. so why did I agree to this hair brained plan? the honest truth of the matter is that i’m ridiculously unfit and the reason for that is that i’m just too lazy to get off my fat ass and exercise.

i really don’t care if i end up being the last person in this race to cross the finish line (well maybe that’s a bit of a stretch. i think i will care if i was the last) but i am hoping that this will give me the motivation to start getting in shape. i hope.

that being said, anyone have any good idea’s or suggestions on how i can go about this whole getting in shape bit? joining a gym wont really work for me. it’s just way too artificial for me.

'…Curiosity killed the cat…' It’s a good thing I’m not a cat. If I were to akin myself to a representative of the animal kingdom a monkey would be more my type :-)
