IT professor Steven Schkolne has come up with a challenge where contestants are given a horribly tangled tangle of Ethernet cables. Choosing the winner is easy. The first person to untangle it gets the prize!

BBC has the story

“I did a bunch of experiments and found that putting them in a dryer for three minutes works pretty well, it allows them to tangle naturally,” he told BBC World Service’s Digital Planet programme.

“After that, they’re pretty much how they appear in nature.”

The first speedcabling competition took place in an art gallery in Los Angeles.

Here’s the link to the original story.

'…Curiosity killed the cat…' It’s a good thing I’m not a cat. If I were to akin myself to a representative of the animal kingdom a monkey would be more my type :-)
