Untangle my tangle – ‘Speedcabling’ is the newest sport

IT professor Steven Schkolne has come up with a challenge where contestants are given a horribly tangled tangle of Ethernet cables. Choosing the winner is easy. The first person to untangle it gets the prize! BBC has the story “I did a bunch of experiments and found that putting them in a dryer for three [...]

Hillary resorts to dirty tactics. Goes against what her campaign earlier said

Politics is such a dirty game. It really brings out a person’s true identity. It takes a very strong person to play fair and it looks like Hillary has failed. It seems like she will go to any extent to win, even if it means breaking the Democratic Party wide open.I read at interesting article [...]

Floating on air… Powered by air… It’s almost the same thing right?

Blow blow harder old chap, the tank is almost full. This might be in our near future if a certain French engineer is allowed to have his way; I really do hope he is allowed free reign. Former F1 engineer has developed a car that runs on air… that’s right. AIR. Taking about 3 minutes [...]

Hillary Clinton is in the solutions business

I was reading this article on CNN [link] where she falls back to her age old argument of how Obama is not ready for the white house. The whole he does not have enough experience line that we’ve all heard a million times. I love this video [link] by Lawrence Lessig where he talks about [...]

YAY! Hollywood writers are going back to work

Are we going to really get out TV back? I don’t know when, but the end of horrible reruns definitely seems to be in sight. The Hollywood writers who went on strike a few months ago protesting unfair royalty payments from the sales of internet based media votes Tuesday to go back to work. I [...]

Looks like Google made an oops

I noticed something today that caught my attention. Looks like Google made some changes to the status image in the in-browser chat pop up. Someone uploaded the wrong image? The icon has a white background instead of a transparent one.

California, I am disappointed in you.

I really did have high hopes for you. I felt that you, the people of California was smarter to know better. Known as the green state, a state that knows what is what. A leader in addressing environmental issues and recycling. So I ask you, how is it that Hillary Clinton won the 2008 primaries [...]

Peruvian anti-riot police uniform

This is fantastic. I love these suits. The Peruvian anti-riot police have nice fancy super hero-ultra cop looking suits. Looks unbelievably uncomfortable though, can you imagine walking around in that suite? I wonder how many riots they had to get involved in to warrant such an extravagant suit. Underwater internet cables, Cut or Damaged?

I’ve been thinking about how “co-incidental” it was that 3 4 core deep sea internet cabled were “damaged by ship anchors” within days of each other. It just seemed a little too much of a coincidence,. Then I read an article [link] where the Egyptian Communication Ministry issued a statement saying that “…Damage to undersea [...]

Bus of pilgrims and children bombed in Sri Lanka

This is obviously the work of the LTTE. For those that don’t know who they are, they are a terrorist organization that the FBI has been quoted saying “LTTE The Most Dangerous Ruthless Extremist Outfit”. Many don’t know this but it was the LTTE that really mastered the art of suicide body suites that many [...]
